Who Is Dr. Gonstead
Dr. Clarence Gonstead revolutionized chiropractic care by applying mechanical principles to the human spine. A battle with rheumatoid arthritis inspired him to pursue chiropractic, and he graduated from Palmer College in 1923. His engineering background led to the innovative Level Disc Theory, redefining subluxation and enhancing patient care. Gonstead also developed tools like the Nervoscope and specialized tables, optimizing adjustments. His dedication drew patients worldwide to his Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin clinic. Remarkably, none of his patients succumbed to polio during the epidemic. Gonstead’s methods and diagnostic systems remain fundamental to modern chiropractic, cementing his legacy as a pioneer in the field.
